Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most popular questions people have about Lucky Fishing Lights.

Is The Lucky Fishing Light Right For Me?

The Lucky Fishing Light is for anyone that wants to attract fish or illuminate an underwater area. All that is required is a 120 Volt power source (common US power outlets) close to the water you wish to illuminate.

How Hard is it to install the Lucky Fishing Light?

Not hard at all. The Lucky Fishing Light simply plugs into the 120 Volt power source and can be attached to any pylon or post on your dock or pier via wood screws. A weight is then attached to the Light to hold it underwater. The weight and the light are are then placed in the water roughly 4 to 5 feet beneath the water's surface. Check out the How They Work page for a more detailed explination.

What do I need to Install the Lucky Fishing Light?

All you need is a screwdriver to attach the Control Box to your pier using wood screws. Then you will only need to put the Lucky Light Bulb in the water near your pier at the right depth and plug in the control box to a 120 Volt outlet (a regular US household outlet).

How long does the Lucky Fishing Light Last?

The bulbs of the Lucky Fishing Light are rated to last 24,000 hours. The electronics do not have an estimated lifetime, and consequently, if used properly, could last a very long time. Replacement bulbs can be ordered on this site from Shannon Outdoors LLC.

What type of bulb does the light use?

Our unit has a 175 Watt, Mogul Base, Mercury Vapor Bulb. The estimated life of our bulbs is 24,000 hours. We use Mercury Vapor bulbs because they glow green, and green lights attract more fish than any other color of light.
