How It Works
The Lucky Fishing Lights are a combination of high-quality weatherproof products which result in an excellent light source for illuminating the water near your dock or pier. The main components are a High Intensity Light Bulb in a custom waterproof enclosure, a weatherproof control box which contains electronics necessary to start the light, special purpose electrical cable to connect the control box to the High Intensity Light Bulb, a weight to hold the High Intensity Light Bulb on the bottom of the water near your dock or pier, and electrical cable and plug to connect the control box to a 120 Volt source on your dock or pier.
The weatherproof control box containing the electronics is mounted to your pier in a location above the highest level the water will rise on your pier. For example, the control box should be mounted above the high tide mark. An illustration of the mounting of the weatherproof control box can be seen in the diagram below.
The special purpose electrical cable connects the control box to the High Intensity Light Bulb. The High Intensity Light Bulb is mounted in a specially made waterproof enclosure. A weight is provided with the Lucky Fishing Light system to hold the Lucky Fishing Light underwater. This weight is attached to the special purpose electrical cable and sinks to the bottom when the light and weight are placed in the water. The weight should be attached to the special purpose electrical cable such that the light is held underwater and approximately four to five feet below the surface of the water.
Once the light is in place, the weatherproof control box containing the electronics may be connected to the GFCI protector plug and then plugged into a 120 Volt outlet.
Now all that needs to be done is wait until it gets dark outside and the Lucky Fishing Light will automatically turn on and start to attract fish.
